Job Details

Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university.
Minimum of seven years of related experience in the workers compensation insurance industry.
Prior experience in a Marketing or Underwriting role preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to quickly master proprietary and vended software applications.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Strong interpersonal, conflict resolution, and presentation skills.
Ability to plan and prioritize work activities efficiently.
Must be able to engage in frequent travel within the assigned territory.

Create and execute territory plans that demonstrate a clear understanding of the territory with effective travel plans.
Proactively search for new agency appointments, prospect meetings, book transfers, and production sources.
Monitor agency growth and profitability, developing profit improvement and growth plans.
Conduct in-person agency visits and participate in prospect meetings, claims reviews, and stewardship meetings.
Educate agents on value proposition, target market opportunities, and service models.
Mentor other Business Development Managers to assist in professional growth.
Participate in weekly underwriting meetings to contribute to large account discussions and win accounts.
Gather, analyze, and evaluate competitor information and territory opportunities.
Maintain accurate producer profiles, business plans, agency files, and contact databases.
