Job Details

7–10 years of progressively responsible experience in public relations or communications.
Demonstrated experience leading significant media and editorial work.
Deep experience engaging reporters and managing PR firm or agency relationships.
Exceptional writing and editing skills with a portfolio of high-level messaging.
Strong news judgment and ability to translate complex research or policy into accessible messaging.
Strong project leadership skills to manage multiple high-priority projects in a fast-paced environment.
Collaborative style capable of building trust with senior leaders and external partners.
Commitment to increasing equity and understanding factors impacting differential outcomes for children.
Experience in nonprofit or mission-driven organizations preferred.
Experience in early childhood, health, or education sectors is a plus.
Ability to travel as required.

Serve as primary editor for all External Affairs content including social, print, digital, web, and executive communications.
Write and shape brand messaging frameworks, talking points, and thought-leadership content.
Lead the day-to-day relationship with the organization's public relations firm to execute earned media strategy.
Drive press releases, op-eds, and media pitches to secure national and local coverage.
Partner with Affiliates and clinicians to generate stories and prepare spokespeople for interviews.
Oversee social media strategy to align with earned and paid content efforts.
Serve as a senior communications adviser to organizational leaders and the Affiliate network.
