Reach Out and Read is a national non-profit organization dedicated to fostering early literacy by partnering with pediatric healthcare providers. We empower families to create meaningful reading moments through daily shared reading, significantly impacting children's development and future success. Our evidence-based program operates in thousands of clinics nationwide, reaching millions of children annually, half of whom identify as BIPOC and a quarter from low-income families. We are uniquely positioned at the intersection of healthcare and education, addressing systemic inequities and working towards equitable outcomes. Our technology stack includes CrUX Top 50m, Amazon Virginia Region and S3 CDN, HubSpot, Place Schema, Comcast, Google Maps Embed, and JobPosting Schema. While we don't have a large-scale engineering team, we utilize these technologies to effectively manage our operations and reach a broad audience. Our work environment values collaboration, innovation, and a commitment to positive social impact. We prioritize a results-oriented approach, focusing on demonstrable outcomes and continuous quality improvement. Reach Out and Read is driven by our mission to ensure that all families have the opportunity to create meaningful, everyday moments through shared reading. Our values center on equity, inclusion, and a deep commitment to dismantling structural inequities that disproportionately affect marginalized children and families. We foster a supportive and collaborative culture, encouraging professional development and empowering our team to achieve our ambitious goals. We actively cultivate partnerships with healthcare providers, educators, and community organizations to maximize our reach and impact. With a history spanning over three decades, Reach Out and Read has a proven track record of success. Our impact is significant: we've distributed millions of books and engaged thousands of medical providers. We continuously strive to expand our reach and deepen our positive influence on children, families, and communities across the nation. We are proud of our recent recognition as the only U.S.-based non-profit selected for the New York Times Holiday Impact Prize.
