Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in data or analytics engineering.
- Prior tech-lead experience.
- Extensive experience owning an OLAP database in production (ClickHouse preferred; Redshift, BigQuery, or Snowflake acceptable).
- Deep SQL and analytical-engine fluency, including materialized views, partitioning, and OLAP design.
- Proven ability to diagnose and fix performance, memory, and scalability issues (e.g., OOMs, read amplification, runaway joins).
- Strong BI/reporting experience (Metabase preferred; Looker, Superset, Tableau, or Power BI acceptable).
- Ability to be the single accountable person for technical ownership and architectural decision-making.
- Experience working in an AI-first development environment using tools like Claude Code.
- Comfort with Golang and Kubernetes is a plus.
- Understanding of data science or statistics is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Manage ClickHouse schema, data models, and migrations.
- Optimize materialized views, performance, and scaling.
- Oversee data ingestion, lifecycle, and system operability.
- Build and maintain reports and analytics using Metabase.
- Enable data storytelling and provide technical guidance for the data team.
