Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business, Economics, Law, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • 4+ years of dedicated B2B sales, account management, merchant services, or treasury management experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of merchant services, financial services, consumer credit cards, or commercial credit card products.
  • Strong track record of consultative sales, business development, and relationship management success.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Word and Excel.
  • Understanding of federal and state regulations related to merchant services and payment processing.
  • Strong time management, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and confidently with clients and team members.
  • Proven ability to excel at prospecting and generating new business opportunities.
  • Must be able to travel up to 5%.

Responsibilities

  • Develop new merchant services relationships by partnering with internal banking teams including Treasury Management and Commercial Banking.
  • Follow up on referrals to identify client needs, present solutions, and convert opportunities into active merchant accounts.
  • Consult on complex merchant opportunities and ensure accurate merchant onboarding and account setup.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with merchants and internal business partners to support growth and client retention.
  • Provide sales and technical support by explaining products, answering questions, and serving as a resource for merchant services inquiries.
  • Prepare pricing comparisons and recommend pricing strategies for prospective and existing merchant relationships.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve merchant services issues, including escalated and complex client concerns.
  • Assess merchant risk levels and work with partners to support approval solutions for higher-risk relationships.
  • Maintain expertise in merchant services regulations, policies, procedures, and PCI Compliance requirements.
  • Provide guidance, training, and knowledge sharing to team members and business partners.
