Requirements
- 7+ years of commercial HVAC experience in installation, startup, commissioning, troubleshooting, and quality assurance.
- Strong working knowledge of rooftop units (RTUs), make-up air systems, exhaust systems, packaged equipment, split systems, heat pumps, and refrigeration systems.
- Proven experience overseeing third-party contractors and holding vendors accountable for safety, workmanship, and schedule.
- Ability to interpret Test & Balance (TAB) reports, commissioning reports, startup documentation, and mechanical drawings.
- Understanding of airflow, ventilation, building pressure, refrigeration circuits, and HVAC control strategies.
- Experience troubleshooting operational, comfort, and energy performance issues in commercial facilities.
- Working knowledge of EMS/BMS/DDC control systems and remote monitoring platforms.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, mobile field applications, and remote collaboration tools.
- Availability to work nights and weekends as required by project needs.
- Ability to travel occasionally (up to 35%) for field audits and training.
- EPA Universal Certification preferred.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Certification preferred.
- NATE, NEBB, AABC, or TABB certification preferred.
Responsibilities
- Lead the remote commissioning, quality assurance, and closeout of HVAC Replacement Program and associated energy solutions.
- Serve as a critical point of accountability for installation quality, safety compliance, commissioning, and project closeout across contractor network.
- Act as a technical resource for installation contractors by providing real-time guidance, troubleshooting support, and installation best practices.
- Conduct comprehensive remote installation closeout reviews with contractors using detailed checklists.
- Review installation documentation including surveys, photographs, and videos to verify compliance with standards.
- Interface directly with installation teams via phone, video, and collaboration platforms to resolve installation deficiencies.
- Monitor completed installations remotely to validate system performance and coordinate corrective actions.
- Perform technical reviews of Test & Balance (TAB) reports, commissioning documentation, and startup data.
- Escalate installation, commissioning, performance, and safety concerns to internal stakeholders.
