Requirements

  • Significant experience in a policy, research, or programme leadership role in Southeast Asia.
  • Proven track record of setting direction and delivering outputs that achieve policy impact.
  • Solid technical understanding of clean energy transition issues relevant to Southeast Asian countries.
  • Demonstrated experience influencing the clean energy narrative.
  • Extensive line management experience, including managing experienced staff and developing others.
  • Track record of readiness to manage managers or lead senior colleagues across multiple workstreams.
  • Confidence in representing an organization's work to policymakers, media, and funders.
  • Ability to make sound, independent decisions within their remit.
  • Strong existing relationships, or a credible path to building them, with Asian funders, policymakers, and media.
  • Experience managing distributed or remote teams.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and drive the Southeast Asia programme strategy in alignment with organizational goals.
  • Own the delivery of team outputs, ensuring high quality, timeliness, and adherence to funder KPIs.
  • Champion and represent the team's work externally to policymakers, media, and regional partners.
  • Build and maintain strong, trusted relationships with network partners across Southeast Asia.
  • Support funder relationships, grant reporting, and identify new fundraising opportunities.
  • Mentor and develop the regional team by providing clear direction and setting objectives.
  • Collaborate closely with Communications and Data teams for integrated project delivery.
  • Coordinate with other Regional Leads to share learnings and align on cross-cutting energy issues.
