Requirements
- 3-5 years of experience in payroll, payroll tax, benefits administration, or accounting.
- Experience managing payroll for a multi-state employee population.
- Strong knowledge of state and local payroll tax compliance, filings, and registration.
- Knowledge of benefits administration, including enrollments and provider coordination.
- Proficiency with a payroll or HRIS platform.
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage time-critical financial tasks.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including PivotTables and complex formulas preferred.
- Rippling payroll experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end payroll processing including regular, off-cycle, and bonus payrolls.
- Validate payroll inputs such as new hires, terminations, compensation, deductions, and garnishments.
- Ensure accurate and timely state and local payroll tax filings and registrations.
- Administer employee benefit programs including medical, dental, vision, life, and disability.
- Lead annual open enrollment communications, system setup, and reconciliation processes.
- Collaborate with Finance & Accounting on month-end close, journal entries, and reporting.
- Identify and implement process improvements and system automations to streamline workflows.
