Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience in payroll, payroll tax, benefits administration, or accounting.
  • Experience managing payroll for a multi-state employee population.
  • Strong knowledge of state and local payroll tax compliance, filings, and registration.
  • Knowledge of benefits administration, including enrollments and provider coordination.
  • Proficiency with a payroll or HRIS platform.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage time-critical financial tasks.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including PivotTables and complex formulas preferred.
  • Rippling payroll experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end payroll processing including regular, off-cycle, and bonus payrolls.
  • Validate payroll inputs such as new hires, terminations, compensation, deductions, and garnishments.
  • Ensure accurate and timely state and local payroll tax filings and registrations.
  • Administer employee benefit programs including medical, dental, vision, life, and disability.
  • Lead annual open enrollment communications, system setup, and reconciliation processes.
  • Collaborate with Finance & Accounting on month-end close, journal entries, and reporting.
  • Identify and implement process improvements and system automations to streamline workflows.
