Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in digital community management, online engagement, or community program management in a global or distributed environment
- Demonstrated experience owning day-to-day operations for a large online community such as Slack or Discord
- Experience building and improving moderation and support workflows, including triage and Code of Conduct enforcement
- Strong understanding of online community dynamics and cultivating trust and belonging at scale
- Excellent written communication and facilitation skills
- Experience using community tooling and analytics to track engagement and identify trends
- Data-informed decision-making with the ability to define and measure KPIs
- Strong cross-functional collaboration skills with teams such as Product, Marketing, and Support
- Cultural fluency and sensitivity to regional communication style differences
- High emotional intelligence and ability to navigate conflict and ambiguity
- Ability to prioritize work across multiple streams in a fast-paced environment
Responsibilities
- Own day-to-day operations of the dbt Slack community, ensuring a welcoming, high-signal experience for members worldwide
- Partner with community leaders and internal stakeholders to evolve channel strategy, community guidelines, and engagement programming
- Develop and maintain scalable moderation and support workflows, including triage, escalation paths, response playbooks, and Code of Conduct enforcement
- Coach and support moderators and community champions; recruit and onboard new moderators
- Create content systems to keep members informed and activated, including announcements, highlights, and storytelling
- Surface community insights and member feedback to Product, Marketing, and Support teams
- Monitor and report on engagement and health metrics like growth, activation, retention, and sentiment
- Manage the community tool stack, including Slack workflows, analytics, and knowledge base systems
- Plan for and manage incident response in collaboration with Legal, People, and Security
