Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- At least 3 years of medical billing and collections experience.
- Experience in Home Infusion, hospital, or chemotherapy is required.
- Knowledge of NDC numbers, metric quantities, and infusion supplies.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Strong ability to evaluate complex billing situations and apply regulations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize, negotiate, and work with internal and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Follow up on submitted invoices to ensure prompt payment.
- Evaluate payments and denials for correctness.
- Identify bad debt write-offs and A/R adjustments.
- Investigate and resolve overpayments or duplicate payments.
- Make calls to troubleshoot payment discrepancies.
- Document all collection activities and communication details.
- Resolve denial issues within 5 days of receipt.
- Maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.
