Requirements
- 5+ years of successful technology or professional services sales experience, ideally within SaaS, payments, or retail/restaurant industry technology.
- Track record sourcing and closing complex, multi-stakeholder deals, ideally multi-location or upmarket.
- Proven skills in complex deal development, financial structuring, negotiation, and closing.
- Proficiency with MEDDPICC or a comparable qualification methodology.
- Disciplined pipeline management and forecasting skills.
- Builder's instinct: ability to define processes and navigate ambiguity.
- Exceptional customer engagement, active listening, and executive-level communication skills.
- Comfort educating customers on the fundamentals of US credit card processing, including surcharging.
- Ability to travel 30% or more for store walks and on-site visits.
Responsibilities
- Build a qualified pipeline of multi-location grocery, liquor, and convenience operators through prospecting and category research.
- Run disciplined discovery against buying committees, addressing operational realities like inventory, margin, and compliance.
- Create demand by educating prospects on the Toast Retail value proposition and platform outcomes.
- Own the full sales lifecycle from lead development and financial structuring to contract negotiation and closing.
- Manage long sales cycles, multithreading across operations, finance, IT, and merchandising stakeholders.
- Partner with internal teams including Product, Legal, and Deal Desk to structure deals and codify a repeatable Mid Market sales motion.
- Maintain high standards of execution and data hygiene in Salesforce and the GTM tech stack.
