Requirements
- 10+ years of progressive accounting experience.
- Experience leading a team through managers or leads.
- Big 4 or equivalent top-tier public accounting foundation.
- Deep mastery of US GAAP, particularly subscription and usage-based revenue recognition (ASC 606).
- Proven track record of managing external audits and maintaining audit-ready books.
- Experience scaling an existing accounting function.
- Concrete, personally-owned automation or AI deployment in accounting with measurable results.
- Strong leadership and cross-functional communication skills.
- CPA license (active or inactive) preferred.
- Internal controls or SOX-readiness experience preferred.
- Experience in a remote-first or globally distributed company preferred.
- M&A or deal accounting exposure preferred.
Responsibilities
- Lead monthly and quarterly close, GL, AP/AR, payroll, and account reconciliations to deliver timely US GAAP financials.
- Own revenue accounting and serve as the technical authority on ASC 606 subscription and usage-based revenue recognition.
- Author technical accounting position memos regarding contract modifications, variable consideration, and capitalized contract costs.
- Oversee equity compensation accounting (ASC 718) and maintain cap-table integrity.
- Manage and scale a team of 7+ employees across various accounting functions.
- Develop and maintain a robust control framework for a remote-first, global private company.
- Manage the accounting systems roadmap and drive automation for financial reporting.
- Oversee treasury operations, banking relationships, and FX exposure monitoring.
- Coordinate external audits, tax compliance, and international statutory reporting.
