Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in strategic partnerships, fintech BD, product strategy, or payments consulting.
- Strong understanding of the payments ecosystem, including issuers, processors, card networks, and wallets.
- Proven ability to connect technical product functionality with partner and market needs.
- Demonstrated success managing complex partnerships and cross-functional projects.
- Comfortable operating in ambiguous, fast-paced environments with shifting priorities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with a strategic mindset and bias toward execution.
- Experience working closely with product or engineering teams in a platform company or fintech infrastructure provider (nice to have).
- Familiarity with tokenization, payment flows, reconciliation processes, or data compliance frameworks (nice to have).
- Technical literacy, including comfort discussing APIs, SDKs, and integration workflows (nice to have).
Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a team of Strategic Partnerships professionals, setting priorities and coaching performance.
- Own and grow a portfolio of strategic partnerships across payments, commerce technology, AI platforms, and cloud infrastructure.
- Develop and execute partnership strategies that accelerate growth, strengthen product differentiation, or open new markets.
- Lead complex, product-oriented partnerships involving coordination across Product, Engineering, Legal, and Sales.
- Source, evaluate, and develop new strategic partnerships to influence the product roadmap and competitive positioning.
- Lead negotiations for strategic commercial and product agreements, including defining partnership economics and go-to-market models.
- Drive partnerships from strategy and business case through negotiation, launch, and relationship management.
- Build senior-level relationships with partner executives and serve as a trusted strategic counterpart.
- Establish goals, operating rhythms, and success metrics to ensure partnership execution.
- Act as the voice of strategic partners within VGS, bringing market and ecosystem insights into company decision-making.
