Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in developer relations, developer advocacy, community management, or a related field.
- Demonstrated success building communities from the ground up.
- Proven ability to launch a developer community, generate early engagement, establish sustainable participation, and scale membership.
- Experience creating governance, moderation, content, and engagement programs using platforms such as Slack, Discourse, Reddit, or comparable community tools.
- Degree in computer science or a related technical field, or equivalent software engineering experience.
- Strong foundation in open-source development.
- Familiarity with work management, automation, developer platforms, or related technology ecosystems.
- Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to create technical yet approachable content.
- Demonstrated experience managing content calendars.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to operate effectively while building new programs from the ground up.
Responsibilities
- Build, launch, and grow an engaged developer community, establishing its culture, governance, engagement model, and long-term programs.
- Serve as the primary community voice by responding to questions, facilitating discussions, and maintaining authentic relationships with developers across community platforms.
- Moderate community channels, enforce guidelines, manage escalations, and promote a safe, inclusive, and constructive environment.
- Drive engagement through conversations, educational resources, recurring office hours, AMAs, developer challenges, prompts, and hackathons.
- Develop and manage a content calendar, creating and coordinating technical, educational, and community-focused content with internal contributors.
- Identify and support emerging community contributors, connecting them with broader developer advocacy and recognition initiatives.
- Design gamification, badging, and recognition programs that celebrate participation and technical contributions.
- Collaborate with technical teams to develop tutorials, guides, use cases, and other resources that help developers adopt and deepen their expertise.
- Capture community feedback, pain points, feature requests, and emerging needs, translating them into actionable insights for internal teams.
- Triage bug reports and roadmap requests, coordinate follow-up with relevant stakeholders, and ensure community members receive appropriate closure.
- Monitor and report on community health metrics, including engagement, response times, participation, and sentiment, using data to continuously improve programs.
