Requirements
- BS/MS from a top school in Computer Science or any related field.
- 10 years of software engineering experience, preferably in SaaS or large-scale distributed applications.
- Previous team leadership experience.
- Solid communication skills and the ability to convey technical solutions.
- Ability to briefly explain sophisticated issues in systems and processes.
- Solid experience of multiple programming languages.
- Proficient understanding of system design and distributed computing principles.
- Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, such as HBase, Cassandra, and MongoDB.
- Solid understanding of the Scrum agile framework and other software development processes.
Responsibilities
- Manage and mentor a team of engineers to design, develop and maintain product features.
- Ensure the code and design quality are against the industry’s best practices and highest standards.
- Coach and mentor team members on high-level design, architecture, effort sizing, and testing practices.
- Give engineers feedback on their day-to-day job performance.
- Steer the engineers’ individual learning and development plans.
- Initiate hiring and the allocation of any resources needed to support the team.
- Removing impediments or guiding the team to remove impediments.
- Oversee the implementation of the software development process.
