Requirements
- 8+ years of backend/product engineering experience with a track record of owning large, complex systems end-to-end.
- Previous experience at a principal engineer level or equivalent.
- 1-3 years of engineering management experience (1:1s, hiring, performance).
- Strong hands-on experience with AI-assisted coding tools like Cursor and Claude.
- OOP fundamentals with experience in Java Spring Boot, Hibernate, or equivalent.
- Practical experience building or integrating AI/ML features using LLMs and RAG systems.
- Proficiency in relational database design and SQL optimization.
- Experience designing technical interviews and evaluating senior candidates.
- Proven startup experience and ability to work without existing playbooks.
- Strong written communication skills.
- Availability to work in CET/CEST timezone.
Responsibilities
- Write code 70-80% of time in first month, shifting toward management later.
- Take ownership of technical interviews, design challenges, and the hiring process.
- Conduct regular 1:1s focusing on output, quality, and AI efficiency.
- Define backend architecture for agentic compliance workflows and intelligent evidence collection.
- Own system design for major projects, including technical specs and production delivery.
- Collaborate on scaling product features like granular RBAC and sub-workspace collaboration.
- Mentor team members and iterate on performance evaluation frameworks.
