Requirements
- 10+ years of engineering experience.
- 4+ years in engineering management roles where you actively coded.
- Hands-on experience building cloud-based SaaS products.
- Experience running services in production on AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Experience owning availability, cost, and the customer-facing surface.
- Strong background in databases, SQL, query optimization, and BigQuery.
- API-first mindset with experience building fully functional, API-accessible platforms.
- Track record of transforming an engineering team regarding delivery velocity or technical quality.
- Strong technical fluency in the team's primary stack, including ability to read, write, and review code.
- Excellent judgment under pressure and ability to communicate effectively.
- Ability to provide and receive direct, candid feedback.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of engineers, owning both its delivery and its development.
- Develop engineers through regular 1:1s, growth plans, performance reviews, and direct, candid feedback.
- Write and review code to maintain a credible voice in technical decisions.
- Drive the team's architectural and technical design decisions in partnership with senior ICs.
- Own the team's commitments and run a disciplined cadence of planning, prioritization, and delivery.
- Partner with Product teams on scope, sequencing, and tradeoffs to maintain the roadmap.
- Own hiring for the team, including recruiting and interviewing.
- Communicate clearly with leadership and stakeholders to ensure alignment on business objectives.
