Requirements
- 10+ years of engineering experience.
- 4+ years in engineering management roles with active coding responsibilities.
- Hands-on experience building cloud-based SaaS products on AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Deep background in databases, SQL, query optimization, and BigQuery.
- API-first mindset with experience building platform-available APIs.
- Track record of transforming engineering teams and improving delivery velocity.
- Strong technical fluency in the team's primary stack.
- Clear philosophy on hiring, coaching, performance management, and technical decision-making.
- Excellent judgment under pressure and ability to make decisions with imperfect information.
- Strong direct, candid communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of engineers, owning both its delivery and its development.
- Develop engineers through regular 1:1s, growth plans, performance reviews, and direct, candid feedback.
- Write and review code, acting as a credible voice in technical and architectural design decisions.
- Uphold engineering standards through thorough pull-request reviews and a healthy release process.
- Partner with Product teams on scope, sequencing, and tradeoffs to maintain an effective roadmap.
- Own hiring for the team, including interviewing and coaching.
- Collaborate effectively with Product, Design, GTM, and Customer Success teams.
