Requirements
- Juris Doctor degree.
- Active bar membership in at least one U.S. state.
- In-house legal experience at a technology or SaaS company, ideally at an earlier-stage, fast-moving startup.
- Strong experience negotiating and managing commercial agreements across the customer and vendor lifecycle.
- Deep familiarity with privacy, data protection, and technology-related legal issues.
- Practical, business-oriented approach balancing risk management with speed and company goals.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence senior leaders.
- Demonstrated ability to operate independently, prioritize competing demands, and navigate ambiguous environments.
Responsibilities
- Own commercial contracting end to end across new business, renewals, expansion, and partner/agency agreements.
- Build practical, scalable contract templates, playbooks, and workflows to support business speed.
- Manage outside counsel and legal spend strategically.
- Advise on data privacy strategy, embedding with Product and Engineering to ensure privacy-by-design.
- Act as a trusted advisor to the CEO and leadership on legal risk, corporate governance, financing, and equity matters.
- Develop a proactive, business-first approach to risk management as the company scales.
