Requirements
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science, related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 8–10+ years of professional programming and software analysis in a commercial environment.
- 8–10+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft C++.
- Deep, hands-on experience designing, modernizing, and testing desktop applications for Microsoft Windows.
- Proven track record of modernizing legacy UI applications and refactoring old desktop codebases.
- Experience with ISAM, database design concepts, and SQL.
- Advanced experience in Agile/Scrum development environments.
- Strong analytical, self-management, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively across organizational levels and directly with customers.
- Strong planning, organizing, and multi-tasking capability.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and mentor engineering peers.
- Detail-oriented mindset committed to quality and zero-defect software.
Responsibilities
- Lead the architectural effort to modernize legacy UI applications to scalable, modern designs.
- Architect, maintain, and enhance desktop applications for Microsoft Windows operating systems.
- Establish test strategies, write component unit test plans, and drive testing processes.
- Develop new features, refactor existing codebases, and improve data structures and UI components.
- Lead code, design, and test reviews to drive R&D effectiveness and zero-defect initiatives.
- Drive sprint/release planning, effort estimations, risk assessments, and schedule development.
- Perform Root Cause Analysis on complex defects and resolve critical product issues.
- Produce technical specifications, system architecture designs, and feature descriptions.
