Requirements

  • 10+ years of relevant experience managing financial functions and organizational administration, ideally within a nonprofit environment.
  • Demonstrated experience with financial processes, grant budgets, grant accounting, contracts, and organizational administration.
  • Strong understanding of nonprofit operations, accounting, financial reporting, and compliance requirements.
  • Proven ability to independently own and drive complex finance and administrative functions from planning through execution.
  • Strong organizational, project, and task-management skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and responsibilities effectively while working with a high degree of independence.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, combined with sound financial judgment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Confidence working with cloud-based collaboration and management tools.
  • Ability to work standard business hours within a continental U.S. time zone.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the organization’s relationship with its professional employer organization, including payroll, benefits, and HR processes.
  • Maintain and improve shared digital information management, financial records, and internal compliance documentation.
  • Oversee administrative systems, subscriptions, contractors, and external vendors.
  • Support full-cycle grant management, including pre- and post-award processes, reporting, and subaward monitoring.
  • Lead the annual budgeting process and provide regular financial reporting to executive leadership and the Board.
  • Ensure robust financial controls, expense coding, and compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Manage consultants and contractors to identify and implement improvements in operational efficiency.
