Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in payments partnerships, program management, business operations, or a closely related field.
  • 3+ years of experience leading and developing teams, with demonstrated people-management capabilities.
  • Proven ability to lead medium- to large-scale technical projects involving external partners and multiple internal stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of product strategy and the role partnerships play in scaling products, payment capabilities, and operations.
  • Experience managing large, complex external relationships, ideally with payment processors, networks, banks, or technology providers.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and executing partnership strategies that support innovative products and go-to-market models.
  • Strong negotiation skills, including the ability to independently lead commercial and contractual negotiations.
  • Experience in payments, payment processing, SaaS, or high-growth technology environments.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven approach to evaluating partner performance and business opportunities.
  • Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, and executive communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize effectively, remain focused under pressure, and operate comfortably in ambiguous and rapidly changing environments.
  • Customer-first mindset with the ability to balance commercial objectives, technical requirements, operational considerations, and customer needs.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and own the global strategy for strategic payment partnerships, managing relationships with processors, card networks, banks, and technology providers.
  • Build strong executive-level relationships with external partners and establish mutually beneficial strategies for market expansion, product development, and operational improvement.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Product, Sales, Finance, Operations, Treasury, Legal, Risk, and other teams to negotiate agreements, develop integrations, support commercial opportunities, and improve processes.
  • Define service-level agreements, performance standards, and partner commitments, ensuring performance is measured and managed effectively.
  • Lead recurring monthly and quarterly business reviews with strategic partners, using performance metrics and business insights to drive accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Assess payment capabilities and requirements across priority markets and identify the right partners, payment methods, technical infrastructure, and operational models to support expansion.
  • Develop and manage end-to-end implementation plans for new partnerships, integrations, programs, and payment capabilities, ensuring timely delivery across internal and external stakeholders.
  • Lead commercial negotiations, including pricing and contractual agreements, while continuously analyzing processing fees and costs to identify optimization opportunities.
