Requirements
- High school diploma required; a college degree is preferred.
- 3–5 years of successful sales experience with a demonstrated record of achieving results.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to understand and work with chemical feed and water treatment equipment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Valid driver's license and acceptable motor vehicle record.
- Ability to travel approximately 35% and work a flexible schedule, including occasional weekends.
- Physically capable of frequent walking and performing work at customer sites, including climbing and descending stairs and ladders ranging from 10–30 feet.
- Ability to safely handle chemical containers weighing up to 50 pounds while maintaining required ladder safety practices.
- Ability to work in environments involving chemicals, noise, hot and cold temperatures, inclement weather, HVAC equipment, cooling towers, and boilers.
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment, including face, ear, and hand protection.
- Experience in water treatment, water hygiene, environmental health and safety, secondary disinfection, or a related technical field is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Manage and grow existing customer accounts by maintaining relationships, identifying needs, obtaining orders, and ensuring effective ongoing service.
- Develop new business within the assigned territory through lead generation, cold calling, appointment setting, prospecting, and other sales activities.
- Promote and sell water treatment and maintenance services to both new and existing customers.
- Develop customized water treatment solutions based on customer requirements, operational conditions, and identified business opportunities.
- Provide hands-on account servicing, including chemical testing, calibration and repair of chemical feed equipment, and visual system inspections when required.
- Plan and organize daily, weekly, and monthly sales and service activities while maintaining accurate reporting.
- Identify opportunities to expand customer relationships and implement solutions that improve account performance and customer satisfaction.
- Travel to customer locations and perform field activities safely and professionally, including work around HVAC systems, cooling towers, boilers, chemicals, and varying environmental conditions.
