Requirements
- Accounting or finance degree.
- At least 5 years of relevant accounting experience.
- Proven experience in a mid-to-senior-level accounting role.
- Demonstrated experience taking ownership of Australian accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
- Experience with Australian payroll, including STP and superannuation requirements.
- Strong general ledger, reconciliation, and month-end accounting experience.
- Practical experience with project accounting, job costing, project forecasting, or margin analysis.
- Advanced Excel skills and strong accounting/ERP system capability.
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of finance responsibilities.
- Able to work effectively within Australian business hours.
Responsibilities
- Take primary responsibility for the day-to-day accounts payable function, including processing supplier invoices and payment preparation.
- Manage the end-to-end Australian payroll cycle, including superannuation and Single Touch Payroll reporting.
- Perform general ledger maintenance and complete bank, credit card, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Track project financial information, including revenue, costs, and gross margins to provide insights to management.
- Execute month-end close procedures, including journal entries and profit and loss reporting.
- Communicate professionally with Australian customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
- Maintain financial controls and identify process improvements for billing, collections, and payroll workflows.
