Requirements
- Proven experience running comparable research, fellowship, or mentorship programs.
- Deep contextual knowledge of AI safety theory of change and the broader research/talent landscape.
- Demonstrated ability to own and drive programs with high operational complexity.
- Experience managing operational or programmatic teams.
- High level of organizational skills and ability to manage multiple overlapping workstreams.
- Ability to make proactive, high-agency strategic decisions.
- Commitment to the mission of reducing risks from advanced AI.
Responsibilities
- Own SPAR program end-to-end including timeline, recruiting, matching, and oversight.
- Develop and execute a growth strategy to make SPAR more ambitious and scalable.
- Hire, onboard, and manage a team of research managers.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with research mentors at top labs and organizations.
- Improve and scale operational systems for applications, matching, and program events.
- Shape organizational strategy and participate in cross-cutting initiatives.
