Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- At least 7 years of software development experience, including 3+ years in engineering management or technical leadership.
- Demonstrated experience operating at Director-level scope, including defining engineering strategy, organizational structures, and technical direction.
- Proven experience modernizing legacy development environments.
- Strong understanding of modern software architecture principles such as service decomposition, scalability, and maintainability.
- Familiarity with Microsoft-based technology ecosystems like .NET, C++, and VB.NET.
- Experience introducing or evolving Agile practices.
- Experience scaling engineering teams and delivering commercial desktop or simulation software.
- Strong communication, mentoring, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Experience with Git-based development workflows and DevOps automation is preferred.
- Familiarity with Jira, Notion, Nave, or comparable engineering metrics platforms is advantageous.
- Experience managing geographically distributed or international teams is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage software engineering teams responsible for multiple product families.
- Define and improve software development practices including CI/CD, automated testing, and Agile methodologies.
- Own the organization's AI adoption strategy and lead the technical vision for AI-powered product capabilities.
- Drive improvements in engineering throughput, release cadence, and reliability using data-driven metrics.
- Partner with Product Management and R&D to align engineering plans with business outcomes.
- Anticipate technical debt and architectural risks to lead remediation and re-platforming efforts.
- Mentor, coach, and develop engineering leaders while fostering a collaborative, high-standard culture.
- Establish onboarding and integration playbooks to support distributed teams and future acquisitions.
