Requirements

  • Proven engineering background with experience writing and shipping production code.
  • Demonstrable experience building and maintaining test automation frameworks (e.g., Playwright, Cypress, Selenium).
  • Ability to communicate effectively and push back on processes or PRs that are not ready for release.
  • Strong product-first instincts focused on achieving goals rather than just applying technical fixes.
  • Familiarity with release engineering, phased rollouts, or canary deployments is a plus.
  • Experience evaluating or implementing UI regression testing tools is desirable.
  • Ability to thrive in a small, fast-paced startup environment.
  • Interest in growing into a broader software reliability engineering (SRE) role.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and implement automated testing tools like Playwright or UI regression tools to cut QA turnaround time.
  • Write and maintain your own test scripts and automated checks to move away from manual testing.
  • Manage high-volume, repetitive QA tasks such as dependency and package upgrade PRs.
  • Monitor the open PR queue to track processing times and identify bottlenecks.
  • Develop and maintain a clear handoff process between development and QA teams.
  • Design phased and contained release rollouts to minimize the impact of deployment errors.
  • Collaborate with engineering leadership to evolve processes toward software reliability.
