Requirements
- 8+ years building and operating production systems with significant individual ownership.
- Strong Python development experience in serverless or service-oriented contexts (AWS Lambda, container images).
- Hands-on infrastructure-as-code experience specifically with Terraform.
- Fluent in analytical SQL and multi-stage warehouse data modeling (e.g., Redshift).
- Proven capability to own and modify a large Ruby on Rails codebase.
- Deep AWS proficiency including S3, SQS, Kinesis, EventBridge, DynamoDB, RDS, and IAM.
- Experience maintaining ML models in production including versioning, dependency management, and explainability.
- Strong experience working across multiple database paradigms (relational, key-value/document, and search).
- Ability to navigate a fast-paced, growth-stage environment with shifting priorities.
- Strong opinions and disciplined judgment regarding AI-assisted engineering tools.
Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end rent pricing pipeline including demand models, renewal probability, price elasticity, and compliance scoring.
- Solve complex data engineering challenges involving ingestion of reconciled lease and charge data from property management systems.
- Build and maintain infrastructure components using Terraform including database, queue, and role provisioning.
- Design and implement an orchestration layer for ingestion and downstream daily job coordination.
- Develop comprehensive observability and alerting for data architecture to ensure pipeline health, data freshness, and recommendation accuracy.
- Execute full-stack changes across Python services, Ruby on Rails application layers, and Terraform configurations.
- Establish standards and review judgment for AI-assisted engineering practices.
