Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Life Sciences, Business, or a related discipline; an advanced degree such as an MBA or Master's is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in business development or sales, with demonstrated success in the life sciences industry.
  • Experience selling professional services to pharmaceutical, biotechnology, biomedical, medical device, or combination product organizations.
  • Proven ability to develop new client relationships, grow existing accounts, and consistently achieve or exceed sales targets through consultative selling.
  • Experience using CRM platforms, preferably Salesforce, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship management skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at multiple organizational levels.
  • Excellent analytical thinking, problem-solving, project management, and organizational abilities in a dynamic business environment.
  • High level of initiative, business acumen, emotional intelligence, and customer-focused mindset with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 30%, with valid travel documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute business development strategies to identify, qualify, and close new business opportunities within the life sciences sector, with a focus on combination products and related consulting services.
  • Build, manage, and maintain a healthy sales pipeline while forecasting revenue and consistently working toward established sales objectives.
  • Cultivate long-term relationships with prospective and existing clients by understanding their business challenges and delivering consultative, value-driven solutions.
  • Prepare and present customized proposals, quarterly business reviews, and strategic account plans that support client growth and strengthen partnerships.
  • Collaborate closely with operations, technical experts, and commercial leadership to ensure seamless project delivery and accurate revenue forecasting.
  • Utilize CRM platforms such as Salesforce to manage leads, sales activities, opportunities, and customer interactions while maintaining accurate reporting.
  • Represent the organization at industry conferences, trade shows, networking events, and association meetings to increase brand visibility and generate qualified leads.
  • Support strategic initiatives, including partnership development, cross-selling opportunities, and evaluations of potential business collaborations or acquisitions.
