Requirements
- High School graduate or equivalent.
- Understanding of revenue cycle, accounts receivables, and denial management principles.
- Knowledge of medical coding including CPT, HCPCS, and ICD10.
- Must be highly professional with effective communication skills.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently in a remote environment.
- Detail and results-oriented with a positive attitude.
- Eagerness to learn and adapt quickly to changing environments.
- Ability to maintain high integrity and confidentiality of medical information.
- Education in medical billing or medical billing certification preferred.
- Experience with Mod Med/EMA practice management system preferred.
Responsibilities
- Identify causes of claim denials and resolve them with minimal assistance.
- Analyze problems and report trends related to denials and payer behavior.
- Follow up on unpaid claims within standard billing cycle timeframes.
- Submit corrected claims, appeals, and required medical documentation to payers.
- Make outbound calls to payers to resolve payment issues.
- Ensure patient medical information is accurate and up to date.
- Document patient accounts in the billing system using proper grammar and syntax.
- Assist with internal and external audits as needed.
