Requirements
- 7+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- Meaningful experience with React Native.
- Solid grasp of native iOS/Android layers.
- Proven track record of solving cross-cutting or ambiguous problems spanning multiple services, teams, or platforms.
- Experience leading technical initiatives such as performance, reliability, or developer velocity improvements with measurable impact.
- Comfortable turning high-level goals into executable, aligned plans.
- Collaborative mindset focused on coaching and improving engineering output through review and design discussion.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for translating technical trade-offs to cross-functional teams.
- Experience with mobile app performance, testability, and shipping reliable features at scale.
- Background in sports, fantasy, or gaming preferred.
- Experience with wagering, betting, or high-stakes transactional flows preferred.
- Familiarity with Amplitude, Datadog, or similar instrumentation and monitoring tools preferred.
Responsibilities
- Build and scale core parts of the mobile and web apps in React Native, covering the entire lifecycle of entry building, review, placement, and tracking.
- Investigate and resolve critical issues in the React Native client and implement guardrails to prevent recurrence.
- Lead design reviews for initiatives cutting across iOS and Android React Native clients, identifying trade-offs, risks, and failure modes.
- Partner with backend, product, and design teams on entry placement, confirmation, slip changes, error handling, and bet history.
- Translate ambiguous, cross-team goals into concrete, executable plans with clear milestones.
- Utilize product analytics, error dashboards, and session data to validate fixes and detect regressions.
- Coach other engineers on design reasoning, ownership, and the creation of reusable patterns.
- Anticipate and mitigate risks in shared systems to protect downstream teams and customers.
