Requirements
- Two to five years of professional experience building and running web applications in production.
- Proficiency in Python and TypeScript, or deep strength in one with working exposure to the other.
- Solid relational database skills, including schema design, query performance, and safe migrations.
- Practical experience with a major cloud platform.
- Experience with containers, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure managed as code.
- Real debugging ability in live systems including isolation of causes and verification of fixes.
- Strong testing habits with a bias toward small, reversible releases.
- Clear written communication, particularly under pressure.
- Sound judgement on when to apply fast mitigations versus long-term solutions.
- Comfort working directly with clients.
Responsibilities
- Build and ship features, integrations and fixes that support active client projects, working end to end from data model to interface.
- Keep our production platforms healthy: dependency and version upgrades, performance and cost tuning, security patching, refactoring, and paying down technical debt.
- Take first-line ownership of incidents during your rotation, including triage, communication, service restoration, and writing postmortems.
- Improve logging, metrics, traces and alerting to enhance system observability.
- Automate repetitive tasks through scripts, jobs or tooling and maintain documentation such as runbooks and architecture notes.
- Review pull requests, contribute to engineering standards, and provide support to delivery teams.
