Requirements
- 5+ years of experience managing or supporting cloud-based database systems (AWS/GCP).
- Strong working knowledge of RDBMS (PostgreSQL/MySQL).
- Experience with NoSQL systems (MongoDB or Cassandra).
- Experience using or modifying Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or Ansible.
- Proficiency in Python or Bash for automating routine administrative tasks.
- Understanding of database backups, replication, and high-availability concepts.
- Solid SQL skills with the ability to troubleshoot and tune query performance.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to thrive in a remote-first, distributed Agile environment.
Responsibilities
- Support the scaling of RDBMS (Postgres, MySQL, Amazon Aurora) and NoSQL systems (Cassandra, MongoDB) through proactive monitoring.
- Build and maintain automation and Infrastructure as Code tooling to streamline database deployments.
- Manage database backbone operations, including backups, restores, and high-availability (HA) configurations.
- Identify and resolve production and non-production performance bottlenecks.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to implement database schema changes and apply best practices for scalable systems.
- Ensure data protection through the consistent application of security standards and replication monitoring.
