Requirements
- 6+ years of experience building large-scale backend systems and APIs.
- Proficiency with Python, Go, React, and TypeScript.
- Experience with AWS, Kubernetes, and Datadog or comparable observability tooling.
- Strong command of relational and NoSQL databases, SQL, and database modeling.
- Active, daily user of AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, or Copilot.
- Demonstrated ability to verify AI output and mitigate associated risks.
- Experience working on both 0-to-1 initiatives and complex existing systems.
- Strong technical instincts balancing engineering best practices with business priorities.
- Clear, direct communication skills for an async-first environment.
- Ability to context switch quickly across concurrent workstreams.
Responsibilities
- Take deep ownership of systems and product areas on your team, becoming the go-to technical expert.
- Independently investigate, design, and execute solutions across distributed systems with ambiguity.
- Architect, build, and maintain highly available, scalable REST APIs and backend services.
- Drive system decoupling, modularization, and technical debt reduction.
- Build agentically by leveraging concurrent autonomous agent workflows.
- Stay at the forefront of emerging AI tooling, bringing new techniques back to the team.
- Contribute to integrating AI into systems and engineering workflows.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product, data, and go-to-market teams.
- Identify and eliminate single points of failure to improve system resilience.
- Improve engineering workflows, tools, and internal utilities.
