Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a physical science or engineering discipline.
- At least 3 years of academic research experience.
- Fluency in the culture of the physical sciences or engineering disciplines.
- Strong ability to translate technical concepts across academic disciplines.
- Professional verbal and written communication skills suitable for scientific and lay audiences.
- Strong skills in analyzing and interpreting literature and disparate data sources.
- Ability to perform independent, self-paced work.
- Commitment to GFI’s values and mission regarding alternative proteins and climate goals.
Responsibilities
- Create an outreach strategy for engaging critical and underrepresented disciplines in plant-based meat research.
- Translate complex scientific and technical research concepts into the language of other disciplines.
- Map key disciplines, individuals, and research forums to expand GFI's scientific network.
- Develop briefing materials, talking points, and outreach toolkits for academic departments and stakeholders.
- Coordinate outreach, facilitate meetings or symposia, and conduct interviews or surveys.
- Pilot outreach contacts, refine strategies based on results, and synthesize findings into a final report.
