Requirements
- 8+ years of US multi-state payroll experience.
- At least 3 years in a people leadership role.
- Demonstrated experience building, structuring, or scaling a Philippines-based payroll team.
- Deep expertise in US multi-state tax compliance (SUTA/FUTA, FICA, W-2/W-3, state nexus).
- Advanced Excel proficiency: Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, Macros, Power Query, and large-dataset modeling.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Commitment to working 10:00 PM – 7:00 AM PHST.
- Experience with ADP Workforce Now, Kronos/UKG, or comparable enterprise payroll platforms (preferred).
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation (preferred).
Responsibilities
- Supervise, mentor, and develop a Philippines-based payroll team.
- Manage the full payroll lifecycle across 15+ US states.
- Lead withholding, filing, and reconciliation across all state jurisdictions including SUTA/FUTA, FICA, and local tax nexus management.
- Serve as Subject Matter Expert for payroll platforms like ADP Workforce Now.
- Manage registration of new state tax IDs and oversee compliance obligations.
- Lead responses to federal and state tax notices, garnishments, and year-end reconciliations.
- Deliver accurate payroll and compliance reporting to the C-suite.
- Drive the transition to automated, scalable, and audit-ready operations.
