Requirements

  • 5-7 years of experience in a development research or prospect management office.
  • Experience with major and principal-gift level prospect strategy development, research, and prospecting.
  • Understanding of development and major gift fundraising principles.
  • Experience collecting, analyzing, and synthesizing information to inform fundraising strategy.
  • Knowledge of screening methodologies, data mining, segmentation, and analytics.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for building partnerships with donors, faculty, and staff.
  • Experience working in a relational database (e.g., Raiser’s Edge or Salesforce Affinaquest preferred).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Customer service-minded approach.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as strategic partner with gift officers to optimize portfolios and strengthen prospect pools.
  • Recommend strategies for outreach that encourage major and transformational gift relationships.
  • Collaborate with development officers and leadership to implement moves management and fundraising strategies.
  • Develop and implement tools to maintain a robust prospect pool aligned with unit goals.
  • Lead individual and group portfolio review meetings and strategy sessions.
  • Coordinate the prospect clearance system.
  • Monitor prospect pools and forecasts to provide actionable analysis.
  • Maintain data integrity and provide service for prospect management requests.
