Requirements
- Strong Go experience in production environments.
- Fluent with concurrency patterns including goroutines, channels, context cancellation, worker pools, and backpressure.
- Solid grounding in distributed systems, including at-least-once vs. exactly-once delivery, idempotency, and ordering.
- Hands-on MongoDB knowledge regarding change streams, the oplog, replica sets, and sharding.
- Comfort building and operating command-line tools and HTTP APIs.
- Experience with instrumentation via metrics and structured logs.
- Habit of writing effective tests and working within mixed toolchains.
- Experience working in open-source projects using Git and pull request workflows.
- Ability to provide and receive constructive code reviews.
- Strong written communication skills for collaboration with a distributed community.
Responsibilities
- Develop and improve the core replication engine for Percona ClusterSync for MongoDB (PCSM).
- Implement logic for initial collection cloning and continuous change capture using MongoDB Change Streams.
- Ensure fault tolerance, correct handling of resume tokens, and resumability across network drops and primary elections.
- Manage replication across sharded clusters, including handling chunk migrations and balancer activity.
- Build and maintain command-line tools and HTTP APIs to observe and control synchronization tasks.
- Work on Percona Backup for MongoDB (PBM) to support consistent backup, restore, and point-in-time recovery.
- Integrate backup solutions with cloud object storage providers like S3, GCS, and Azure Blob Storage.
- Maintain high release quality through automated testing, packaging, and CI/security scanning.
