Requirements
- Diploma or degree in Human Resources, Accounting, Payroll, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of hands-on payroll and benefits administration experience.
- Working knowledge of payroll legislation, tax compliance, and employment standards in Canada and the U.S.
- Full-cycle payroll processing experience.
- Proficiency with payroll/HRIS systems such as ADP or BambooHR.
- Experience administering benefits, wellness programs, and pension plans.
- Strong Excel skills and comfort working across integrated HR and payroll systems.
- High attention to detail and strong reconciliation instincts.
- Discretion and professionalism in handling sensitive data.
- Ability to manage competing deadlines and maintain composure under pressure.
- Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) designation is considered a helpful extra.
- Experience with Slack and SharePoint is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Enter and verify employee data changes including new hires, terminations, and tax forms in HRIS/payroll systems.
- Coordinate and administer semi-monthly payroll for salaried and hourly employees in Canada and the U.S.
- Validate timesheets, hours worked, and run payroll reconciliations to ensure accuracy.
- Prepare annual tax documents such as T4s, W-2s, and ROEs and support year-end reporting.
- Process benefits and pension transactions including new enrollments and life event updates.
- Balance and reconcile benefit invoices for Canadian and U.S. group plans.
- Maintain accurate employee and compensation data across all systems.
- Respond to employee payroll and benefits inquiries and support leave management processes.
