Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Economics/Finance, or a related area.
  • At least 10 years of procurement and/or relevant business experience within Manufacturing, Technical Site Services, Analytical Development, and Engineering functions.
  • Proven track record of negotiating complex third-party transactions that deliver maximum savings and enterprise risk mitigation.
  • Deep understanding of supplier cost structures and ability to analyze market competitiveness of costs.
  • Ability to work in a highly complex and fast-moving biotechnology company at executive levels.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of finance, budgeting, cost management, and risk management.
  • In-depth knowledge of sourcing and procurement principles, systems, and best practices.
  • Strategic mindset with strong negotiation and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of enterprise risk management and business continuity planning.
  • Ability to travel domestically approximately twice a quarter.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the strategic and compliant sourcing of goods/services for Site Technical Services, Engineering, Technical Development, and Manufacturing.
  • Oversee end-to-end outsourcing, including sourcing strategies, supplier rationalization, RFP coordination, and cost negotiations.
  • Manage business case generation, including competitive bidding processes, scoring methodology, and selection justification.
  • Identify opportunities for supplier base consolidation, standardization, and innovation to support operational continuity.
  • Negotiate optimal terms, competitive pricing, service level agreements (SLAs), and risk mitigation clauses with vendors.
  • Streamline long-term category strategies to achieve operational efficiency and reduce total cost of ownership (TCO).
  • Lead procurement strategy for engineering and construction services, automation, and capital equipment.
  • Develop performance benchmarks, scorecards, and key performance indicators for senior management.
