Requirements
- Extensive commercial software development experience with a focus on Python.
- Proven track record in technical leadership or lead developer roles.
- Technical degree (2:1 or equivalent) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a highly relevant field.
- Strong understanding of Python fundamentals and object-oriented programming.
- Strong expertise in MySQL and/or PostgreSQL and relational databases.
- Familiarity with AWS services and Git version control.
- Experience with coding LLMs into production applications.
- Ability to utilize agentic AI coding in daily workflow.
- Professional proficiency in English (both written and verbal).
- Must be located within a 2-hour timezone of London and able to work standard UK business hours.
Responsibilities
- Act as a tech lead, unifying development teams and fostering excellence through code reviews and mentorship.
- Design and implement scalable backend API endpoints and LLM pipelines.
- Architect high-throughput data pipelines between databases and user interfaces.
- Engineer secure infrastructure for authentication, session persistence, and memory caching.
- Optimize AWS environments for high availability.
- Drive the migration from legacy systems to a new Python stack.
