Requirements
- Proven experience building recommendation, ranking, search, matching, propensity, or next-best-action systems.
- Proficiency with Go and TypeScript.
- Experience with distributed systems, HTTP, and gRPC.
- Experience building, validating, monitoring, and iterating on models in production or operational environments.
- Ability to work effectively in version-controlled codebases.
- Strong product thinking and technical communication skills.
- Experience partnering with cross-functional stakeholders to define metrics and instrumentation.
- Ability to explain modeling choices, tradeoffs, and results to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Responsibilities
- Evolve the Interactive Learning plugin's recommendation system by developing approaches to candidate selection, ranking, and sequencing.
- Own a real-time recommendation service including model building, validation, versioning, and monitoring.
- Define recommendation quality metrics and develop offline, online, and longitudinal performance measures.
- Ship incremental improvements to the existing recommender service.
- Partner with software engineers and data analysts to productionize models and integrate them into the recommender service.
- Collaborate with Product, Docs, and GTM teams to translate ambiguous needs into testable hypotheses and product decisions.
