Requirements
- Experience building recommendation, ranking, search, matching, propensity, or next-best-action systems.
- Experience with HTTP/gRPC, streaming, and Go or TypeScript in distributed systems.
- Proven ability to build, validate, monitor, and iterate on models in a production or operational environment.
- Experience working effectively in version-controlled codebases and collaborating with engineers on production implementation.
- Strong product thinking and technical communication skills.
- Ability to explain modeling choices, tradeoffs, and results to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong ability to identify key unknowns and create a sequence of experiments that steadily improves product outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Evolve the Interactive Learning Plugin's recommendation system by improving candidate selection, ranking, and sequencing.
- Build and operate real-time recommendation services.
- Develop, validate, version, monitor, and iterate on models used in a production environment.
- Define and implement offline, online, and longitudinal measures of recommendation performance.
- Ship incremental improvements to the existing recommender service.
- Partner with software engineers and data analysts to productionize models and ensure safe integration.
- Collaborate across multidisciplinary teams to translate ambiguous needs into testable hypotheses and measurable product decisions.
