Requirements
- Proven experience building recommendation, ranking, search, matching, propensity, or next-best-action systems.
- Experience with applied model ownership, including building, validating, monitoring, and iterating on models in production.
- Experience working in version-controlled codebases and collaborating with engineers on production implementation.
- Proficiency with distributed systems and experience with HTTP/gRPC and streaming.
- Previous experience with Go or TypeScript.
- Strong product thinking skills with the ability to turn ambiguous objectives into concrete experiments.
- Demonstrated ability to explain modeling choices, tradeoffs, and results to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to work effectively in a remote-first, global collaborative culture.
Responsibilities
- Evolve the Interactive Learning Plugin's recommendation system by developing personalized approaches to candidate selection, ranking, and sequencing.
- Build and operate real-time recommendation services and applied models in a production environment.
- Develop, validate, version, and monitor models, owning the full training and serving lifecycle.
- Define and measure recommendation quality using offline, online, and longitudinal performance metrics.
- Partner with software engineers to productionize models and integrate them safely into the recommender service.
- Collaborate with Product Analytics to define metrics, instrumentation, and experiment analysis.
- Translate ambiguous objectives into testable hypotheses and measurable product decisions.
