Requirements

  • Board certification in Endocrinology by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM).
  • Active and unrestricted Medical State License in any US State.
  • Minimum of 5 years as an attending physician in endocrinology.
  • Expertise in advanced diabetes management, including CGMs, insulin pumps, and complex insulin regimens.
  • Demonstrated competency in managing patients with complex co-morbidities including CKD, ESRD, and CAD/CV conditions.
  • Experience working with APPs, medical residents, or trainees.
  • Certification by the American Board of Obesity Medicine (ABOM) or extensive clinical experience in obesity medicine/pharmacotherapy.
  • Interest in mentoring, teaching, and collaborating with clinical team members.
  • Proficiency in evidence-based treatments, behavioral interventions, and nutrition.
  • Bilingual candidates with medical fluency in Spanish are highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care in a telemedicine clinical setting focusing on obesity and comprehensive diabetes management.
  • Manage patient insulin titration and therapy for those using insulin pumps and Continuous Glucose Monitors (CGMs).
  • Collaborate with and supervise Endocrine-Specialized Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) and Registered Dietitians.
  • Review charts and conduct visits for APP patients to ensure quality and continuity of care.
  • Provide advanced treatment planning for complex endocrinology cases and patients with CKD, ESRD, and cardiovascular conditions.
  • Prescribe non-controlled medications for obesity and diabetes management.
  • Conduct weekly collaborative meetings and provide mentorship to assigned APPs.
  • Ensure clinical documentation and treatment pathways are followed consistently.
  • Contribute to clinical quality improvement efforts and departmental professional development.
