Requirements
- Strong technical understanding of municipal and industrial water treatment processes.
- Knowledge of drinking water treatment, wastewater treatment, and adsorption technologies.
- 5+ years of experience working within the water treatment industry.
- Degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Environmental Science, or a closely related discipline.
- Proven commercial acumen with ability to identify opportunities and drive growth.
- Ability to articulate activated carbon applications within water treatment environments.
- Experience in market analysis, opportunity mapping, business planning, and strategic account development.
- Natural networker capable of building long-term relationships at multiple levels.
- Ability to travel frequently to customer sites, engineering firms, and industry conferences.
- Proficiency in project management (considered a strong asset).
- Strong communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts into commercial value.
Responsibilities
- Manage the business development pipeline in the water treatment, portable, municipal and industrial wastewater segments.
- Generate target levels of revenue, volume, and margins from the customer base.
- Develop volume and revenue forecasts, account plans, and sales strategies.
- Lead cross-functional efforts with R&D and Application Support to develop marketing collateral.
- Initiate and drive product enhancement projects in alignment with Product Management.
- Communicate and negotiate complex sales opportunities with customers.
- Identify new market opportunities and monitor competitors.
- Manage third party sales intermediaries such as engineering firms, distributors, and system providers.
- Maintain accurate forecasts and pipeline data using Salesforce.com.
