Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • At least 5 years of experience in account management, client success, or relationship management serving pharmaceutical companies, biotechnology organizations, CROs, or related life sciences sectors.
  • Previous experience leading and developing account management or other customer-facing teams with demonstrated success in coaching high-performing professionals.
  • Proven ability to achieve or exceed client retention, renewal, and revenue growth objectives within the clinical research or life sciences industry.
  • Strong understanding of the clinical trial ecosystem, customer challenges, and industry landscape.
  • Excellent consultative relationship-building skills with the ability to align customer objectives to business solutions.
  • Outstanding presentation, negotiation, and executive communication skills, including experience engaging senior leadership and C-level stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical mindset with experience developing data-driven account strategies and forecasting business performance.
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and capable of thriving in a dynamic, evolving business environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Account Managers by setting clear objectives, providing ongoing coaching, conducting performance reviews, and fostering professional growth.
  • Oversee daily account management operations, including portfolio assignments, workload balancing, and execution consistency across the client base.
  • Build and maintain strategic account plans that identify client health metrics, growth opportunities, and proactive risk mitigation strategies.
  • Own portfolio renewal performance by identifying retention risks early and collaborating across teams to maximize customer satisfaction and long-term partnerships.
  • Drive revenue growth through upselling and cross-selling initiatives within existing client accounts while managing contract renewals and commercial negotiations.
  • Serve as the senior point of contact for key clients, cultivating trusted executive relationships and resolving complex issues when necessary.
  • Partner closely with sales, implementation, product, legal, finance, and delivery teams to ensure successful onboarding and exceptional customer experiences.
  • Represent customer feedback internally to help influence product enhancements, service improvements, and business priorities.
  • Forecast renewal and expansion revenue accurately while supporting overall commercial planning and business performance.
