Requirements
- 4–6 years of professional software development experience.
- Proficiency in Ruby on Rails.
- Experience with JavaScript/React (approx. 1 year sufficient).
- Strong API integration skills with a focus on authentication.
- Experience working with relational databases at scale and proficiency with SQL.
- Experience with complex backend systems, including MFA, email verification, and risk-based fraud detection.
- Familiarity with Git version control.
- Strong written communication skills.
- Availability for 24/7 on-call rotation (shared every three weeks).
- Availability for overlap with EST timezone (09:00–13:00 EST).
- AI Fluency: ability to use AI tools for development while maintaining ownership and accountability for all produced code.
Responsibilities
- Build self-service flows for account recovery and cancellation to reduce Customer Support load.
- Develop and enhance identity-related functionality including authentication, session management, and user data protection.
- Improve login and account creation processes, including passwordless, magic links, passkeys, MFA, and identity verification.
- Integrate risk-based fraud detection and other security measures to mitigate threats.
- Design user data retention and deletion workflows compliant with regulations like GDPR.
- Implement projects focusing on quality, maintainability, performance, scale, and observability.
- Write technical documentation and collaborate with product, security, and legal teams.
