Requirements
- Advanced medical degree (MD, DO, or equivalent), PharmD or PhD.
- 10+ years of medical affairs experience in the Pharmaceutical/Biotechnology industry.
- Experience in rare diseases, launch experience preferred.
- Proven success in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, smaller company environment.
- Strong track record of building and leading field medical teams.
- Proven experience in working collaboratively and cross-functionally across the enterprise (field medical, clinical development, commercial, sales, market access).
- Demonstrated understanding of laws, regulations, standards, and guidance governing the conduct of field medical interactions.
- Ability to travel approximately up to 50% of the time, as determined by the needs of the business.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute on all field medical strategy and tactics including driving key field intelligence and communication efforts.
- Hire and lead national field medical team, including working with SVP on team expansion as necessary.
- Partner with scientific communications lead to develop robust and timely creation of relevant field materials including materials on disease state, clinical research, manuscripts and congress publications.
- Collaborate closely with Clinical Operations and Development, therapeutic area leads and patient advocacy to support clinical trials.
- Lead and ensure execution of KOL engagement and advocacy plans and advisory board plans.
- Lead and manage field medical congress strategy and tactics including developing processes for pre and post conference deliverables.
- Work with SVP and operations lead to ensure alignment to medical strategic plan and budget.
- Lead the quarterly strategic insights process and contribute to medical affairs communications.
