Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 10+ years of engineering experience, including 5+ years of direct people management experience.
  • Proven success leading and scaling high-performing engineering teams, including improving delivery processes and growing engineering capabilities.
  • Strong experience with software architecture, scalable systems, workflow automation, data integrations, and event-driven architectures.
  • Demonstrated ability to partner with Product and Machine Learning teams to deploy models and build production-ready platforms.
  • Experience managing complex technical initiatives while balancing speed, quality, reliability, and compliance.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and strategic thinking abilities with a strong bias toward action.
  • Experience developing senior engineers, technical leads, and future engineering managers.
  • Preferred experience building products in fintech, credit servicing, customer support, lending, recoveries, or collections environments.
  • Experience operating in regulated environments where customer impact, security, and compliance are critical.
  • Ability to manage critical production issues and drive effective resolution.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing engineering team of 10+ engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Drive the design, development, and delivery of cross-functional engineering initiatives that support business goals and customer needs.
  • Establish technical direction and architectural clarity while ensuring systems are scalable, reliable, and maintainable.
  • Partner closely with Product, Risk, Operations, Machine Learning, Analytics, Legal, and Compliance teams to define requirements and deliver effective solutions.
  • Oversee the development of customer-facing products and internal systems using strong software engineering practices.
  • Guide teams in building workflow automation, data integrations, and event-driven architectures that improve operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with architecture and infrastructure teams to align engineering initiatives with broader technical strategies.
  • Manage project priorities, timelines, resources, and delivery processes to ensure successful execution.
  • Communicate effectively with technical and business stakeholders regarding progress, risks, opportunities, and strategic decisions.
  • Develop frameworks and practices that support continuous delivery, operational excellence, and long-term engineering growth.
